On Thursday, we just hung out at the campground, getting rested up before starting the 2000-mile journey back home, with a few stops along the way. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll see a third sighting of Babe the Blue Ox!
The campground where we are staying is called Sugar Bay Campground Resort and is
located in Cohasset, Minnesota (near Grand Rapids) on, well you can probably guess, Sugar Bay. The
bay is actually connected with other bays/waterways and together they all form
a lake, of course - Lake Pokegama. As I mentioned earlier, it is a senior RV
park. There are only 10 sites; only 4 of the sites are right on the lake, and
ours is one of them.
We took our lawn chairs out and sat next to the lake the
first night we were here. While we are in the camper, we enjoy looking out the
windows at the scenic lake. One morning, I happened to wake up early (5ish),
and watched the sunrise over the lake. Absolutely gorgeous!
In the evening, when we were eating dinner, we looked out the window of the camper and noticed a rainbow in the sky. People like to attribute meanings to rainbows appearing, so we thought about whether seeing this rainbow on our last night before heading home meant anything. We decided that it did. It meant that the sunlight hit some rain droplets and some of the light was reflected, causing the electromagnetic spectrum that is made of light with different wavelengths (resulting in the different colors) to appear. Either that, or Paul Bunyan swung his axe up in the clouds and created a multi-colored arc!
A word about the suggested names for our camper: If you
recall, I had asked for suggestions for names for the camper a number of days
ago. Thank you to all who contributed to the possibilities. The award for humor
goes to “Adventure Before Dementia”, but it is not really a practical name that
we will use. A little bit too long. “Children’s Inheritance” was accurate, but
we don’t want to keep reminding the children that we plan to spend every last
penny. The award for creativity goes to “Taj MaHaul”; love the play on words.
Well done, anonymous. I have to say that we were not expecting these kinds of
suggestions. We were thinking more along the lines of Susie, Johnny, Betsy,
etc. I guess we’re not as creative as our readers.
Just because we are heading home starting tomorrow does not mean
that this is the end of the blog. We will be making a few stops along the way,
and hopefully I will have the time, energy, and wifi in the evenings to write a
short blog about the day. If you have stuck with us this far, you might as well
hang around a couple of more days. You never know if we might come across
something really exciting between Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Cranberry Twp.,
PA.

So have you decided on a name?
ReplyDeleteI believe the Internet contributed to that creativity. Not to throw anonymous under the bus...or should I say under the RV
ReplyDeleteNo we haven't decided yet.
