We are looking forward to our first trip in our new camper (travel trailer). We will be traveling across the Ozarks in southern Missouri, and then across southern Kansas with a bunch of interesting stops, including the Wizard of Oz house in Liberal, KS and the Koshare Indian Dancers on the high plains in LaJunta, Colorado. We will then head to Rocky Mountain National Park where we will spend about a week at a campground in Loveland, from which we will venture out to the beautiful Rocky Mountains, including Estes Park, Breckenridge (where we honeymooned), and Steamboat Springs. We also plan to take in a baseball game in Denver. It just so happens that the Colorado Rockies are playing the Pittsburgh Pirates while we are there. Lucky us! We will also head to Colorado Springs to see Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak. Heading back, we will travel on the old Pony Express route along the northern Kansas border before heading north through Iowa and Minnesota, going to the far north in International Falls before heading back south through both Dakotas and Nebraska. We'll see Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox (try to contain your excitement), Judy Garland's home and museum in Grand Rapids, and the headwaters of the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca. Once we get back to Kansas, it's on to St. Joseph, Missouri and the Pony Express Museum and across Missouri to Hannibal and the Mark Twain museum, before heading back home to Pennsylvania.

Right now our plan is to leave tomorrow (Saturday July 9) - subject to change based on whether. Yes I spelled that right. Based on whether we're ready or not. (It's great being retired: if we're ready, we'll go; if not, we'll delay a day or two). We are looking forward to seeing the west again. Hopefully the internet service along the way will be good enough to keep this blog going. I hope you enjoy it!
