Well, as it turns out, we didn't leave Saturday. After spending more than half the day packing and loading the camper, etc., we were wiped out and decided that it wasn't a good idea to start out the trip being really tired. So we waited until Sunday morning.

We got away around 7:30 Sunday morning and drove about 500 miles. I had my first experience driving

the truck and pulling the camper. It was a perfect opportunity. We were traveling along the Ohio Turnpike, and all I had to do was drive onto the Turnpike from the Service Plaza, drive down the highway about 65 miles, then pull into a Service Plaza. No tight turns, narrow streets, etc. (I'm sure there'll be plenty of that to come.) The hardest part was figuring out the easiest way to get out of the service plaza. But I managed. The second time I drove, I ended up driving through Indianapolis. Well not exactly through it, but around it on the loop, weaving in and out of traffic, dodging big trucks, looking for the right exit, etc. It was very tense, and I did a lot of white-knuckle driving. But made it okay. We're spending the night in Bloomington, Indiana. We're in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel, where they allow RV overnight parking. The price is right, but the amenities are minimal.

More to come tomorrow. Simply too tired to write more tonight.
